I'm sorry about the confusion. The shared files are created on the work system.
My mention of the message was to indicate that while my work arrangement has a very current version of Office, information technology may non be the absolute latest. However, since this outcome goes back to Excel 2003, I don't think that this is the issue.

We are finally doing it the right way. Our users are updating data in a database. Excel is pulling the data records and pointing out what records they should be looking at.
It is non what the users are used to doing, merely it'due south the right thing and they are getting used to it.
