Appearance

In his empowered form, Toshinori is a very large man with an every bit-muscular and well-divers physique, his design resembling a typical western comic book superhero. He has chiseled features on his confront with a strong jawline and pronounced cheekbones, and bushy eyebrows. He has brusque blond hair, swept backwards, with 2 singled-out tufts that stick up higher up his head, leaning slightly to each side. His strong features regularly casts a dark shadow over his face, hiding everything but his bright blueish optics.

Toshinori's Golden Age hero costume consisted of a skin-tight bluish bodysuit decorated with a red symbol that somewhat resembles a "Y," designed with a white diamond at its center, with white lines connected to information technology that trace from his breast to his dorsum shoulders; the lines trimmed with the aforementioned red symbol. The symbol appeared to have wings on the side that ran from the atop his torso before ending around his back, over which was a like cerise and white design absent-minded of the white diamond. Big white patches lined with red-covered each side of his hips earlier ending at his lower thighs, and he wore a aureate belt that had a silvery buckle with red eyes. His forearm sleeves were colored in gold that each had white lines covered in bluish accents over his wrists, and had spiked fins on the sides of his arms, his feet were covered in shin-length gold boots trimmed with white and red accents.

In his "true form," later sustaining permanent damage from All For One, Toshinori's declining health reduced him to a very skinny man with sharp, athwart features and long limbs, his neck long and his eyebrows absent. He possesses a large scar that covers about of the left side of his breast, and it is non uncommon for him to spout claret from his mouth when excited or surprised. He typically wears baggy clothing to accommodate the change in body mass betwixt forms, just after the end of Toshinori's tenure as a hero, he starts wearing clothes that fit him in his true grade, as he no longer needs big clothes that fit his musculus form.

In his early career, Toshinori was a lean but fit young man. In his empowered form, his facial features were noticeably softer. In both his normal and empowered form, he did not have shadowed optics on his face, completely showing his white sclerae while retaining the deep blueish irises of his eyes, possibly showing how he was non a shell of his former self.

Personality

All Might using his trademark smiling to put others at ease.

All Might's hero persona appears to be derived from comic book superhero stereotypes: exuberant and filled with dramatic flair. He always protects and saves innocents, with a huge smiling. The habit of smiling was ingrained to him by his mentor, Nana Shimura, who believed that the ones who smile are the ones who are the strongest. Though he can be annoying at times, All Might is extremely friendly and amicable due to his popularity and years in the spotlight, always taking his time to interact with fans.

Once All Might reverts to his true course, he becomes reserved and solemn, avoiding attention in straight dissimilarity to the grandiosity of his hero identity. While he'southward an optimist, he still ensures his goals are grounded in reality. When a Quirkless Izuku tells him about his goal of becoming a hero, All Might praises him for having a dream, just reminds him to stay realistic and suggests he enter another profession that helps people. He considered the harsh words necessary to save the boy from long-term frustration. In this form, he ofttimes vomits claret as an indicator of his fragile wellness, although it might happen if he gets surprised or amused enough. Two personality traits that seem to be e'er nowadays on him, regardless of which class All Might is currently taking, are his optimism and oafishness.

Since his immature days, All Might had e'er carried a single, withal burdensome goal in his mind: to get a colonnade of hope that people could always rely upon during harsh times. After obtaining One For All from Nana, All Might rose to go not but a hero but a legend, cheers to his seemingly endless competency and charisma. No affair who or what he faced, All Might would stand up upwards triumphantly every time, ane boxing later another, inspiring the globe and sending fright to the hearts of villains everywhere. He has a chronic ability to save as many people every bit he can, a trait he shares with his successor. He exhausted himself and fell backside on other heroes duties, such as filing paperwork. Though he was embarrassed by it, he even so gratefully accustomed the offer of Sir Nighteye and (later) Naomasa Tsukauchi to file his reports.

All Might recognises Izuku's true heroism.

Later his fight against All For I, he considered it necessary to proceed his weakened state hidden from the public, for the sake of keeping upwards morale. Unfortunately for All Might, injuries inflicted on his body were starting to have a cost on him. Despite the concern and warnings from some of his close assembly, All Might's determination to preserve social club from evil prevented him from relinquishing his office every bit the Symbol of Peace. His smile, once a gesture that served to calm others, started becoming more than of a way for All Might to hide his fears and insecurities from the general population. Every bit time passed, All Might began to forget some of the basic principles of heroism, until Izuku, in a dauntless attempt to save Katsuki Bakugo from the Sludge Villain'southward attack despite being Quirkless, rekindled his heroic spirit and taught him that something can always be done to fight injustice.

Upon retiring, All Might vows to devote himself to raising Izuku as his successor.

In a higher place all else, he considers cocky-sacrifice the most noble action. This comes in many forms for All Might, such as physically on the battlefield, but also mentally, sacrificing so much of his fourth dimension, he barely has a private life. He believes in this core value so much, he dropped Sir Nighteye'southward preparations for a successor on a whim after witnessing Izuku'southward single human activity of selflessness to save Katsuki. This selflessness has served All Might well to become a symbol, as civilians trust his words, "Practise non fear", truly knowing he won't hesitate to save them. The dismissal of his own safety eventually defenseless up to him, causing bug with both his work and personal life. As a U.A. Teacher, he couldn't help only be distracted helping people on his forenoon commute, shortening his fourth dimension with his students. It likewise estranged All Might from Sir Nighteye, who disagreed on whether he should exist avoiding his prophesied death or continue hero work. All Might attempted to ignore his prophesied expiry, keeping it secret from Izuku for a long time. At Inko Midoriya'due south asking, he gained a new resolve to avoid it entirely; he institute a greater value in his own life, knowing Izuku needed him every bit a mentor, non only a savior.

Izuku has compared All Might'southward personality to their mentor Gran Torino since both of them apparently play impaired often. All Might is actually more intelligent and perceptive than his campy prototype would propose. He has a tactical mind when it comes to battle strategies and public speaking. Assessing a villain's threat level, he'll skillfully apply the necessary forcefulness and avoid injuries when possible. If he'southward in control, he'll even make a dramatic performance out of their defeat, equally an example to other villains. His presence lonely decreased Japan'due south crime charge per unit by 3%. He's aware of villain tactics, such as monologuing, and actively ignores them. Only the nearly manipulative of villains, like All For I, can bring out rare instances of acrimony in All Might, such every bit catching him off guard and giving him a mortal injury, too as mocking his belatedly chief, Nana, causing All Might to ascension in anger, proverb that he would destroy All For 1'southward wicked ambitions and bitterly stating that the villain would die in prison.

Despite his battle intelligence, his great powers and fame make him dissociated with others' capabilities, and Gran Torino asserted this made him ill-suited to educational activity. Sometimes All Might underestimates his students and is outsmarted as a outcome. Lacking education feel, he required a script in order to convey his first lesson to Course 1-A. He is also reprimanded on occasion by his fellow teacher, Eraser Head, for being sometimes unavailable for his education duties. However, All Might bringing his typical attitude into his teaching can be beneficial, creating an energetic and motivating environment. While his U.A. coworkers respect him every bit a Pro Hero, they can get frustrated with the conflict his presence brings to the school, such as alluring journalists. He has too faced criticism from the media for attracting villains to U.A.

For Izuku particularly, All Might has a habit of projecting himself onto his protégé, and overestimating his limits as a effect. While All Might grew accustomed to being able to use Ane For All at 100% instantly, Izuku received grave injuries when he did so. After receiving multiple scoldings from Recovery Girl for encouraging Izuku's self destructive behavior, they both realized that the boy needed to be his ain individual hero and develop in his own way. This is reflected when All Might told Endeavor, after taking his place equally the Number 1 Pro Hero, to effigy out on his ain what kind of symbol he wanted to exist. While All Might wishes to inspire others, he is not cocky-righteous and sees the value of dissimilar ideologies. He also has a respect for other professions exterior of heroes, such as the Constabulary Force, while others tend to underappreciate them.

All Might enraged at missing his chance to save Katsuki.

All Might always prioritizes the lives of others over his ain, because them his responsibility. Still, All Might is deeply aware that saving everybody in the world is an impossible task, which is why he sought to become a symbol who could inspire others to take activeness as well. While All Might is seen grin, laughing, and being cheerful most of the time, he is extremely protective of his students, showing a very rare instance of rage if they're in danger. He is willing to go above his limits for their safety, making sure to alleviate their worries through his trademark smile.

Despite having the best intentions in becoming a symbol that everyone could rely on, All Might's debut and tremendous rise in the world of Heroes also came with unintended downsides and consequences; as a result of his immense power, gild began to over rely on both him and other Heroes in full general, to the extent where they would become downright ignorant in thinking that a Hero would e'er announced on the scene and rectify whatsoever situation, condign more like bystanders and spectators in the process. In other and more extreme cases, Endeavor would go to horrible lengths in order to surpass All Might, such as creating his son, Shoto, with the intention of grooming him to surpass All Might every bit his father's successor. Furthermore, fanatics such as Stain believed that All Might was the true instance of what every Hero should be, and killed those whom the Hero Killer believed were unworthy and did not meet his standards.

All Might trying to entertain his students.

All Might has a fatherly attitude towards his students (his successor Izuku, in detail) and takes pride in helping their development equally future heroes, being quick to give encouraging advice and celebrate their accomplishments, merely he's also non agape of pushing them further, even if he ends up going a bit too far. All Might has the habit of adding "young" (少年 , Shonen ? ) to the surname of his students whenever he is speaking out loud or thinking to himself (ex. "Young Midoriya").

However, during the Last Exams Arc, out of all the teachers he is, by far, the most ruthless. Similar his hero persona, All Might tin can put on a theatrical villain one, doing information technology to bring out the total potential of others with crude beloved. His sheer intimidation lonely was, co-ordinate to Izuku, similar to that of Stain. When Katsuki stated that he'd rather lose than seek Izuku's assistance, All Might was more than willing to strength Katsuki to lose. He likewise punched Katsuki hard plenty for him to vomit, showing he will not concord dorsum and is willing to injure his educatee if that means they'll pass the exams properly. He would fifty-fifty go as far every bit to crack Izuku's dorsum, as well as crush them both under his boot (all of which earned him a serious scolding by Recovery Daughter).

Abilities

Despite his waning power, All Might goes across his limits to defeat Nomu, a creature specifically created to impale him.

Overall Abilities: All Might was recognized equally the greatest hero in the world. He was the "Symbol of Peace" and such a deterrent against criminal offence that villains were largely discouraged by his presence in society, single-handedly bringing near-absolute stability throughout Nippon, a stark contrast to the rest of the world. He was able to defeat All For 1, infamously known every bit the world's most powerful villain, twice; a feat that all the previous wielders of One For All could not. Despite winning however, All Might suffered a gruesome injury at the easily of All For 1 that limited his maximum ability output going frontwards, gradually reducing his sheer might and how long he could use his ability at all.

Fifty-fifty when handicapped with weights, All Might can still overpower Izuku & Katsuki easily.

Fifty-fifty after his Quirk's ability was constrained by his injuries, All Might's forcefulness and speed were unmatched. After he passed his Quirk onto Izuku, relying on the residual energy of Ane For All made his strength and time limit decrease more chop-chop. Nonetheless, All Might could still defeat villains on his own that groups of normal Pro Heroes struggled against. By pushing his power beyond its reasonable limits, All Might defeated Nomu, who was created specifically to kill him, with over 300 blows. Against Izuku and Katsuki, who are among Course 1-A's elites, he completely dominated them in their fight, fifty-fifty while wearing high-density weights. Forced to once again break the limiter placed on his Quirk, All Might defeated All For 1 by using upwardly his remaining reserves of power.

Fifty-fifty though he is unable to keep his hero form for more than a few seconds subsequently his terminal boxing with All For One, All Might however keeps a keen intuition and sharp reflexes, which helped him strop his skills every bit a hero e'er since he acquired his powers. This is shown in his observations regarding Izuku'south use of One For All, and the fact that he was capable of catching one of Mei Hatsume's "babies" coming in from behind with minimal attempt in his true form. Despite his physique in his true course, he is actually quite physically able but isn't every bit efficient compared to when he is in his hero class.

Trained Muscles: Usage of One For All requires the user to have stiff muscles, as One For All is a lot to handle and could cause the user's torso to be blown apart if they don't possess the necessary strength of body. Gran Torino said that All Might, in particular, had a stiff torso that allowed him to master 1 For All much faster than previous users.

All Might'due south incredible willpower allowed him to transform the remaining embers of Ane For All into a raging inferno that defeated All For Ane, once and for all.

Dogged Spirit: All Might'southward volition is clear in nigh all of his actions equally a Hero. He is known for saving people with a smile and his catchphrase "I am here", 2 facets of him being the Symbol of Peace. During the pinnacle of his battle against the U.S.J. Nomu, All Might remembered his resolve of being the Symbol of Peace, and his resolution allowed him to button beyond 100% of his ability in order to finally defeat the bogus man. Another prominent spectacle featuring All Might's willpower was during his final showdown with All For I. One of All For One'southward primary strategies in their fight was to vesture down All Might psychologically, such as taunting All Might by mentioning the latter'southward sometime mentor and predecessor, Nana, as well every bit revealing that Tomura Shigaraki is her grandson. The first taunt enraged All Might, while Tomura's kinship to Nana made him despair profoundly. Nevertheless, in spite of the guerrilla warfare employed by All For One, All Might remembers Nana's teachings on heroism, and re-established his volition, enabling the weakened hero to muster up some of his remaining power in order to continue fighting. Worn out of his muscle form and faced with certain defeat at the hands of a virtually unscathed All For Ane, All Might was still able to channel what was left of I For All to defeat All For 1 in a unmarried strike. All Might possesses an extremely stiff presence that has struck fearfulness into others, such as Izuku and Katsuki during the Final Exam. This aura was strong enough to cause two villains to freeze in terror even though they'd been prepared to impale him and despite him being powerless.[iii]

Teaching: While All Might has shown to be a poor teacher on occasion, every bit he lacks proper teaching practice and required a script for his first lesson, he does show to accept his exceptions when it comes to preparation and hero practice. All Might was able to help train Izuku Midoriya's skinny trunk into a muscled vessel for 1 For All, having created a training regimen that would let Izuku to train up his body and safely inherit his Quirk in the limited infinite of ten months. Furthermore, he realised that Izuku had been deliberately pushing himself to go fifty-fifty farther, revealing that he designed the regimen and so Izuku could train his trunk properly, just without completely exhausting himself. This shows that All Might does have a bully understanding of physical training and the man body'due south limits. His commencement practical battle lesson was too designed realistically, with him giving the villain team earpieces to communicate and a map of the edifice, whilst the hero team would go in without said advantages, replicating a similar experience to heroes storming a villains hideaway without proper preparation. He also assigned ane-A's partners randomly, as Izuku pointed out that Pro Heroes oftentimes take to team up on the spot and make utilise of their collaborative skills. Following his retirement, it is revealed that he's studied educational activity more attentively from a guidebook, as he commended Izuku for having developed his own fighting manner and was also seen giving advice to Kyoka Jiro during 1-A's Ultimate Movement training. This shows that he has improved in giving verbal advice and feedback to his students as well, realising the proper steps he needs to take to motivate them without giving them the complete respond.

Former Quirk

Ane For All (ワン・フォー・オール , Wan Fō Ōru ? ): Transferred to him from Nana Shimura, Toshinori's Quirk allowed him to stockpile an enormous amount of raw ability, allowing him to significantly enhance all of his physical abilities to a superhuman level. This resulted in unbelievable levels of strength, speed, agility, and durability.

All Might was so skillful with One For All that he was widely known as the earth'southward most powerful person. However, virtually of the known feats he performed are after he'd been grievously injured by All For One, and after he started the process of transferring 1 For All to Izuku, so the fullest extent of his abilities are more often than not unknown.

  • Immense Force: All Might's nearly distinguishable trait was his dizzying levels of super forcefulness. A unmarried punch from All Might could not simply defeat a villain merely completely change the atmospheric condition after. It too has the ability to completely destroy several city blocks from the wind pressure it creates. Despite becoming severely weakened since first meeting Izuku, All Might's pure overwhelming strength is still comparable to that of a nuclear device. He quite literally vanquish the Shock Absorption out of Nomu, forced Izuku and Katsuki into fleeing rather than continue fighting him head-on, and clashed with All For One's attacks and cancel out their highly destructive power with brute forcefulness alone. Subsequently defeating Nomu, All Might himself admitted that, compared to his prime in which he could've defeated Nomu with five hits, it took over 3 hundred blows to defeat the bio-engineered animal. This is some other testament of All Might'due south weakened state.
  • Immense Speed: In conjunction with his immense level of physical strength, All Might possesses an equally impressive corporeality of speed. When he arrived at the U.s.a.J., All Might moved a remarkable distance from the gate and simultaneously incapacitated villains in the glimmer of an eye. Tomura fifty-fifty says that he was completely unable to track his movements despite the latter being slower than he once was. All Might was also able to swiftly defeat multiple Nomu and travel 5 kilometers from the League of Villains Bar, towards All For One's location at the Nomu Manufacturing plant, all in 30 seconds subsequently the Nomu were warped by All For One himself. All the same, according to All For One, this was really much slower than what All Might was originally able to accomplish in his prime. Fifty-fifty in his weakened state, he was fast enough to travel from Might Tower to the Tokyo Egg in mere seconds. In his prime, he proved swift plenty to unmarried-handedly defeat the regular army of Instant Villains created past All For One and save nearby children all in the bridge of three seconds.[four]
  • Immense Durability: All Might had farthermost durability, nigh to the point of beingness completely invulnerable to attacks. He sustained no life-threatening impairment from his battle with the U.s.J. Nomu and took point-bare, full-power explosions from Katsuki without showing any signs of injury. All Might was even able to survive All For One'south enhanced Air Cannon, a motility that can crusade catastrophic, city-wide damage due to being confederate with many other Quirks, and emerged well-nigh unharmed, albeit with only some small scratches.
  • Immense Stamina: In his prime number years, it was noticed that All Might has never been shown to be exhausted even when fighting against multiple villains. The but time that All Might was shown to be panting and out of jiff was against All For One and the The statesJ. Nomu, and those cases were merely due to the injury he received from the former six years prior that also limited All Might from using the maximum output of Ane For All. In his prime, All Might was able to exercise more than seventy-two sequent hours of hero work and still had enough energy to respond to an emergency call in Osaka.[5]
